This tool needs JavaScript enabled — your PDF is processed in the browser and never uploaded, so there is no server-side fallback. You can also build and generate PDFs in the template editor demo.

How to split a PDF

Add your PDF

Drag the file onto the drop zone, or click Choose a PDF. Every page is rendered as a thumbnail, and all of them start selected.
Choose the pages you want

Click a page to leave it out; click it again to put it back. Deselect all clears the lot when you only want two or three pages, and the zoom buttons make the thumbnails big enough to read.
Split and download

Click Confirm to split. Each selected page is saved as its own PDF inside pdfs.zip — or tick Merge selected pages into a single PDF first to get them all in one split.pdf.

Split PDF FAQs

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your PDF is read with your browser’s own file API and split on your machine — nothing is sent to CraftMyPDF or to any other server, so confidential documents stay on your computer.

What is the difference between the two download options?

By default each selected page becomes its own file, delivered together in pdfs.zip and named page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf and so on after their position in the original. Tick Merge selected pages into a single PDF and you get one split.pdf containing the same pages in the same order.

Can I use this to delete pages instead?

Yes — that is the same operation seen from the other side. Deselect the pages you want rid of, tick Merge selected pages into a single PDF, and the file you download is the original minus those pages.

Can I extract a range of pages?

There is no range box; you select pages by clicking them. For a long run, Deselect all first and then click just the pages you need — the counter in the toolbar keeps track of how many are selected.

Is anything lost from the pages I keep?

Page content, links and annotations are copied across, at the original page size and rotation. Document-level structures — the form dictionary, bookmarks and attachments — belong to the whole file rather than to any one page, so they do not survive the split.

Can I automate this instead of doing it by hand?

Yes. The PDF Generation API builds documents from a reusable template and your data, so a recurring job — one statement per customer, one report per region — can produce the separate files directly.
